We were there for dinner, on being recommended highly by a few acquaintances.While the service was fine and the vegetarian food average, the place definitely didn't live up to the hype.The vegetarian salads sounded great but tasted just about okay.The ambience was nice, but still very warm for an October evening.

So we went on a short 2 day trip to Pondi and Villa Shanti is a perfect place to do that. It's not an inexpensive place but it's worth the money. Very clean property. We stayed in the junior suite. The only thing that I would have liked was a door in the bathroom because that is what was not there. Good option for solo travels too I think.The location is perfect, but also depends on if you want to stay in the hustle and bustle area of pondi. A lot of cafe options around so you can explore the area.The staff is lovely and very courteous. The breakfast has only 2 options which I like- indian and continental. They have a small menu selection which is also great considering that prevents wastage. If you can't stay in their property, go there for a meal.All in all, lovely experience! Thanks Villa Shanti. We had a wonderful 4 night stay at this beautiful hotel. The food was magnificent and we were looked after by a very professional and friendly waiter - Soubhagya . He served us early breakfast with a smile and then took care of us for dinner across 3 nights. He helped make our stay very memorable.

We went for candle light dinner to villa shanti which was arranged by the hotel on demand basis.The arrangement was really good and service was very nice, they appointed 1 waitress Trisha for us and she was present there the whole time making sure we are comfortable and enjoying our arranged dinner, really sweet and helpful.Overall amazing experience 👍

Had lunch here, notably most of the reviews are about the hotel over the restaurant.First, the service is good however the food is not that great, it is fresh but the taste is not that appealing to indulge like veg soup, Indian breads and curries. The Alfredo paste was good.Overall one time worth trying.

Food and drinks are tasty but very costly. At that price point one can expect more from such restaurant.Actually we visited there accidentally but totally got attracted to the ambience of the resto, then decided to dine there.Quality of food and drinks are top notch and courteous behaviour of staff are superb.

The location was the best part of this place. Decided to go there after seeing many videos on the youtube. The ambience was nice but did not like the food very much plus also found it a bit pricey for the taste. Would not recommend.

I didn’t stay thereRestaurant is a must visit if you are near white town, Pondicherry.Excellent preparation, presentation of food. Service is also very good.Overall vibes are very nice.

I visited the restaurant here and had the french onion soup which was excellent. Next up was grilled jumbo prawns with roasted pumpkin and spinach. And that combination was really very good. They had some unique dishes on their menu. And I was really impressed with the food I had.

This is lovely small/boutique hotel, in an excellent location. You can't really go wrong with it in terms of accommodation - we had a large, rather comfortable room, and a large bathroom with very good quality towels and toiletries. We did not sample the room service, but every other touch point with the hotel staff was excellent.The breakfast is simple, and sufficient - fresh fruit, an assortment of breads, and a choice of eggs.About the only complaint I have is the massage service - all but one massage option is for ladies only, and the masseuse seems to be external because she refused to come for just one massage.The location is great - about a 5 minute walk from the promenade, and between 2 and 10 minutes walk to innumerable cafes, restaurants, and shops in the White Town area.

I had lunch and dinners here. Very good place. Awesome food. And hospitality is marvellous. Specifically a staff named Riya is very humble. She was talking care of my toddler while having good. She helps us in ordering. She was very good, helpful. Satisfied.

For restaurantOnly one AC table available, that too for big group.Service is good and vibes are great.The food could be better- we tried finger millet gnocchi and alfredo pasta. Alfredo pasta only had salt taste and overcooked pasta. gnocchi had undercooked veggies and gnocchi texture was off.

The room was clean and quiet, perfect for relaxing. The food was really good as well.Only disappointment was the spa services was not available during our stay, and we were not informed about it before.The location is easy to find but there is no parking. There's a paid parking lot 1-2 streets away that can be used.There are many restaurants, and the beach as well, within walking distance.

Very elegant, colonial vibe is very soothing. We ordered for a Citrus Salad, A Pudina Paratha, Roasted Fish with Ratatouille, Vegetables and noodles with Coconut, Ginger and Lemon, and my favourite Spaghetti Aglio Olio.Everything we ordered was outstanding in its preparation, presentation and flavour. We savoured the meal over a hearty chat.We paid approx. 2800 Rs. for the above.

Prime location! We recently visited this place for lunch during our Wiser Wonderer trip (for women travelers above 30 years). The ambience was fantastic, and the food and service were top-notch. Ms. Divya took such great care of our group of 9 ladies, making the entire experience even more enjoyable!

Dining at Villa Shanti was a wonderful experience. The cozy and inviting ambiance made the evening special, especially with their candlelight dinner. The food was excellent, full of flavor and beautifully presented. We were warmly greeted by Riya, who was very kind and helpful. She patiently explained the menu and helped us choose the perfect dishes. It was a memorable night!

Pathetic service. The waitress was least interested in serving us. Would turn her back on us even before we finished an order. The food was bland and when asked for a spicy sauce they simple said they don’t have. Have to keep pestering the waiters to come ask for orders.

We had an excellent stay at Villa Shanti. We came 6 years back and loved it so much that we returned with friends. The rooms were great and the restaurant served delicious breakfast as well as lunch. We had dinner at their sister restaurant called The Stop which was lovely. The staff is very friendly and helped us to arrange cars for a day visit to Auroville and back as well as to Chennai airport at the end of our stay. Would highly recommend!

A very good French restaurant in the white town. The grilled snapper with mash potatoes was great. Nice ambience and friendly staff. It takes around 1 hour to serve food after order is taken. The price is on the higher side.

Dining at Villa Shanti was a fantastic experience. The food was delicious, and the ambience was cozy and inviting. Trisha welcomed us warmly and provided excellent service. The tandoori prawn was a highlight—perfectly cooked and flavorful. Highly recommended!

We had dinner here, the location is really beautiful and so is the building. Very wide menu with different choices both indians and European (including salads, pasta, risotto, crepes). Food is delicious and staff very kind. There were a few mosquitos and in some areas it was a little too too, maybe some actions to improve although it is clear that this is the season!

During my recent Pondicherry visit I had lunch at Villa Shanti after seeing rave reviews, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was lovely. A fantastic dining experience.
