So to everyone who came from and helped in Myanmar, we sincerely thank you. Your actions are truly commendable,” Palace Press Officer Claire Castro, speaking in Filipino, said in a briefing.
The PIAHC landed at Villamor Air Base in Pasay City aboard two C-130 transport planes. They were welcomed by Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro, Jr.
Myanmar was devastated by a magnitude 7.7 earthquake last March 28. The Philippine government deployed the PIAHC—composed of 89 personnel from various government agencies—on April 1 and 2.
